Thank you, kind sir, for listening and for your review. =)
Heya! This is Tan's friend that you played on Tetris yesterday. He sent me your WIP the other day, and I thought it sounded really clean. This isn't the genre I usually listen to, but when I hear it, it seems a bit hit or miss, and this is definitely a hit. The first thing that crossed my mind was that it sounded like a front pager. Everything's well mixed together--no instrument overpowers the other. Very well executed! Looking forward to hear more.
Hi! Thanks for the review. I still consider myself a beginner, though. Tan let me look at the FLP fle from your collaboration with him, and it looks way cooler than my projects, and not just because it was color coded! My songs are still on the simple side, but I have been using the Mixer a little more than in previous projects.
I'm glad you liked it. Unfortunately, this was my first song in about two years. I have a bunch of 15 second long tracks that I didn't have the creativity to finish. I hope I'll be able to get another song done soon. But probably not.
You really demolished me in Tetris, by the way. It was also nice to see Tan win in League of Legends for once. Haha!
Awesome tune
Loving this IDM/ambient video game tune :)
Make more like this and if you make an album I might buy it :P
Thanks<3 light stuff like this is what I'll most likely be producing for a while.
Perfect volume envelopes
The tempo you're blending the instruments is complementary to each other's sustain and decay. The delay bank effect at 1:22 builds upon the spatial awareness. The backwards effect towards the end adds tension. Nice and gentle listen.
Thanks for noticing the smaller details, always neat to see someone dissect your work.
Feeling this
As you responded to another review about your dissatisfaction with the bass, you could always beef it up with some compression or maximizer or maybe even make it eerily over-present by sidechaining. I don't know much about dubstep but it seems like there should be a crash or some reverse crash moving into the wobble bass.
Well this track was for a competition with limited samples so i can't just do anything i want.Anyway thanks for the review and the advices !
Good stuff!!
This is the kind of stuff I'm into for but it's so rare that anybody constructs it well. Major props. Enjoyed it :)
Totally agree. There is so few professional sounding gabber songs on NG.
I'm really glad you liked it. Appreciate the review.
P.S. if you liked this you may also like Vehement Austerity by NuclearDuckie Software.
Ahh!
This stuff is nice! It's relaxing and invigorating :)
I actually enjoyed how you used dblue (at least I think you did).
thanks yotipo ! yep i used DBblue for it , tryed to play with parameter a bit !
Interesting
Reminds me of KKKKK Come On by Slagsmalsklubben. I suggest that you try to balance the levels of the instruments to sound more euphonic. It seems like some are overpowering. Overall pretty catchy; I'd use the main lead synth in a different manner though. Keep making music :)
As you can see, one year later after my first submission, I continues making music. I appreciate your review, I'll try to work with the mix a little more and make sure some instruments aren't overpowering. Thanks again.
Sampling
As a previous reviewer stated, FL is an inspiring piece of software (I use it too). I should really try mixing with samples more often and maybe get something akin to your style as portrayed in this track. Interesting listen.
If you do some sample collages, please notify me.
Intriguing
I applaud your attempt with experimenting and changing up things, but it's a bit more difficult listening this way, theme wise at least. I understand you're taking an IDM artist's approach, but you did lay hard on the reverser. An interesting listen to say the least, but I'd like what else you can do in the future. This could be possibly be a good demo.
I'd argue I don't attempt experimenting. :P
